MASS AND MEMORIAL FOR POPE FRANCIS St. Joseph's Cathedral Kuching will be holding a REQUIEM MASS FOR POPE FRANCIS this Friday, 25th April 2025 at 5:30 pm. All are welcome. A MEMORIAL FOR POPE FRANCIS AND A BOOK OF CONDOLENCE have been set up at the Day Chapel for parishioners who wish to offer their sympathies and pay tribute to Pope Francis. All are welcome to visit and sign the book, starting from Tuesday, 22nd April till Friday, 25th April, between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Saturday, 26th April, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. POPE FRANCIS’ FUNERAL MASS will take place in St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City, Rome on Saturday, 26th April 2025 at 10:00 am (Malaysia time: 4:00 pm). |
THE SECOND COLLECTION this week is for the Cathedral Maintenance Fund.

GENERAL REMINDER
Parishioners are reminded to show reverence to the Lord and consideration for others as follows. We seek your kind cooperation and understanding so that we can all worship comfortably as a Church:
-Please arrive early and be seated at least 10 minutes before Mass begins to avoid causing unnecessary interruption or distraction.
-The sacredness of the Eucharistic celebration urges all participants to dress appropriately when entering the Church for Holy Mass andmanifest the importance of what we are doing as a worshipping community.
-Wearing of face masks in Church is no longer mandatory but highly encouraged, especially in crowded and closed environment.
-Those sick with flu-like symptoms (e.g. fever, cough, runny nose, etc.) are to exercise prudence and refrain from joining the congregation in Church.
S PAY GLOBAL / SARAWAK PAY QR CODE STICKERS on the church pews are made available for the convenience of our parishioners and also to facilitate weekend Mass collections. However, these stickers quite often need to be replaced because they were found partially torn or defaced. We appeal to parents not to let your young children play, tear or draw on these stickers.
NOVENA TO THE DIVINE MERCY 2025 started on Good Friday, 18 April until 26 April 2025, (i.e. Saturday in the Octave of Easter). The time and venue for each day of the Novena is as per above.
DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY EUCHARISTIC ADORATION will be held on Divine Mercy Sunday, 27 April 2025 from 2:30 pm to 4:10 pm at the Cathedral. All are welcome!
A NATIONWIDE HUMANITARIAN APPEAL FROM 26 APRIL TO 31 MAY 2025 IN AID OF THE EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS IN MYANMAR & THAILAND will be launched by theCatholic Bishops’ Conference of Malaysia (CBCM).
Our SECOND COLLECTION next weekend on Divine Mercy Sunday will be channeled to the Relief Aid for Myanmar and Thailand earthquake victims. Please contribute generously!

Let us, as Pilgrims of Hope, bring the light of Christ to those in darkness. May our generous response be a living testimony of the mercy of our Heavenly Father and the unity of the Body of Christ.
